A Day in the Life  

The Industrial Engineer will bring an analytical approach and provide data driven solutions under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Operations.  With a primary focus on process improvement and data driven gap analysis, this role will work closely with Operations, Business Development and Accounts to ensure an accurate understanding of; process refinement and continuous improvement, evaluations of new and existing business, and how they both impact the space and labor requirements in our environment.  

What does success look like in this role?   

Supports the developments and layouts for multiple facilities. Designs and implements all Lean practices. Provides positive results by making contributions in enhancing SOPs. This individual must have the ability to manage, train and develop. And lastly, has effective communication and interaction across all levels of the organization.   

The following schedule is available for this role:
1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm 

Starting Pay:
$95,000 - $150,000 annual range
Location: 
NRI California DC (with the ability to Travel)

All About You 

What You’ll Bring to the Role: 

  • Excellent technical capabilities with proficiency in MS Office Applications, AutoCAD, including PowerBI and an expert in Excel, inclusive of WMS experience  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate, interact and communicate with all levels of organization 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties, follow through assignments with a minimum of direction, and be extremely detail oriented 
  • Experience in continuous improvement tools/methodologies like time studies and labor management studies to drive customer fulfillment, quality, efficiency and safety along with enhancing SOP’s 
  • Experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR's) and other warehouse automation
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties, follow through assignments with a minimum of direction, and be extremely detail oriented  
  • Has the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities 
  • Trustworthy and moral character (we use pre-employment background & drug tests) 

The Must Haves: 

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field 
  • Must have 1+ years of relevant work experience in a 3PL/ logistics warehouse environment 
  • Experience working with apparel, shoes and accessories preferred 
  • Must have basic AutoCAD experience 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook and Excel 
  • Six Sigma, Lean or 5S certified or trained is a plus 
  • Must have physical ability to carry out essential job functions, including but not limited to, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., walking and standing for extended periods, climbing ladders/stairs, ok with heights in elevated areas and tolerating conditions such as dust, dirt, noise, odors, heat, cold, etc.  

Things You Will be Doing 

Process review and continuous improvement  

  • Completes time studies, ROI analysis for capital projects and process analysis.  
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects (inclusive of participating in LEAN program management). 
  • Using Lean Six Sigma methodology to analyze and refine existing processes.  
  • Provide management feedback on new process opportunity or gap identification.  
  • Modeling seasonality (Client space requirements flexing up and down) for new and existing Clients and how that impacts our business from a space and labor allocation standpoint.   
  • Proposing racking configurations and process flow to optimize utilization of space based on Client and product mix. 

Power BI / Dashboard creation 

  • Providing visual support to KPI’s and performance within the Distribution Centers. 
  • Gather data for Client Operational analysis  
  • Working with General Manager/VP of Operations to build new tools to support efficiency and performance. 

Analysis  

  • Analyze contractual commitments and Client specifications to model Operational standards that impact pricing and profitability prior to Clients coming on.  
  • Review current business to understand any gaps around requirements for space and labor and propose solutions on how to close any gaps.  
  • Working with the Accounts team to understand forecasted requirements and refine this process to ensure we are receiving the most accurate information possible to make decisions around labor and inventory position using slotting software.  

Travel  

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business purposes and be mobile to work at multiple facilities.
